A few years ago I was in a transitional period of my life where Arctic Tundra was a relevant album to me. The isolation in it was part of a longing. Now it has in fact been revealed that I drowned on that island. The song meanings have changed, so I have changed the songs.
Over the past year I remixed and remastered the entire record from the ground up. I reamped and rerecorded all the guitars using Fender, Vox, Mesa and Marshall AMPS rather than amp simulators. I have provided a cleaner master, as clear as the dark water.
I ran the channels through reel to reel tapes and stopped and started them by hand to bring in the parts and slow them to a stop rather than use traditional faders.
I didn't realise at the time that things weren't going to make it off the island and that they would inevitably drown trying

I can't get over how inventive this one is. The single-singer harmonies are so impressive, I wouldn't have believed it was just one person dubbing themselves. Some of the best guitar riffs of the year reminding me of early Modest Mouse if they tried to write folk punk (would probably be dreadful in reality but this rules). nathalie
