You came along and Im just a fly in your spiderweb
Caught here with still shells of lost enemies
Strangers all of us
A still meadow
Navigated rocks and crossed over all your uneven bridges
stillness of ice raining eyes over empty mirrors
Looked at the moon smiling backwards
that old familiar bastard is still here
rivulets of ice still raining in your eyes
Trembling, I dreamed I was dreaming again
I heard your voice in the living room twice
I think your ghost is hiding here
The smell of your perfume has faded through time
the light shone smaller as you moved away
The faded curtains, your garden overgrown
I hold my razor to my ear
Imagined sighs live false in the trees
All the streets are burning here
I painted little drops over the flames I did not see
Your mind was full of garbage just like rivers in the street
Press your rose petals in our dried out book of love
a fragrance i have lost under the mattress on the wooden floor
The sound of cars driving up and down in some kind of misery
Mechanical eternities are not enough
This is the last time I will think of you
This is some great music for a morose, rainy day. Lush, sedate, bluesy, and with a certain apocalyptic flair, most evident on White Horses, which sounds very much like a psychedelic blues dirge.
I appreciate that the songs sometimes lose themselves along the way, giving way to some beautiful psych explorations. I also enjoy the vocals on this - they sometimes waver, but they fit the music so well. Smekermann
