The sun behind the green pines
Stood on the lawn and I felt my heart beating
the wind blew through the silent avenues
The branches of a sparrow bend beneath the moon
Saw in half your living room
secret heart the secret room
Millions die in afternoons
My house is falling silent soon
Vietnam
Green pines
I keep falling in my dreams
Assassinations and dope raids
You still call me in my dreams
Who you know, what you know
million pounds of cocaine and round and round we go
I dont know where you go
20 tonnes of propane and see the afterglow
Jail-dogs hide skulls on a postcard
policeman peddling crystal shards to you
Flee the floods and teargas the crowds
Caught another butterfly.. or a
Bow-winged blowfly
Milkweed by and by
European magpie
This is some great music for a morose, rainy day. Lush, sedate, bluesy, and with a certain apocalyptic flair, most evident on White Horses, which sounds very much like a psychedelic blues dirge.
I appreciate that the songs sometimes lose themselves along the way, giving way to some beautiful psych explorations. I also enjoy the vocals on this - they sometimes waver, but they fit the music so well. Smekermann
