Scratch out your name
Cracked open like a rock inside a flame
Do you soften with pain
Return to the wall again
Its many eyes of rust
In winged silver dust
in the lamplight it cast
its meaningless, its past
Its melting to its night
it moves toward the light
its many eyes a lie
It will eat you alive
Shes The Moth
Failure is strange
Kept all the insects inside a cage
Drawn to the flame
Your ignorance and rage
A thousand dead eyes
The winged silver flies
When the lamplight dies
The meaningless lies
It clings to its curse
It moves where its worse
Its many eyes abide
It eats you like a fly
Shes The Moth
Golden in its art
Mold inside its heart
Creation then it dies
Fruit in its demise
Its mask before a flame
Behind it is your name
Waking you in fright
A million eyes at night
And you wake up in twilight
Fill the room with firelight
It betrays you in its eyes
It swallows you alive
This is some great music for a morose, rainy day. Lush, sedate, bluesy, and with a certain apocalyptic flair, most evident on White Horses, which sounds very much like a psychedelic blues dirge.
I appreciate that the songs sometimes lose themselves along the way, giving way to some beautiful psych explorations. I also enjoy the vocals on this - they sometimes waver, but they fit the music so well. Smekermann
